This trackball is a 2-inch, high-resolution unit that is impervious to liquids and dirt that are associated with industrial environments.

The housing is a glass filled ABS material with full hard 440C Stainless Steel shafts and double shielded ball bearings. A Teflon ball shield compliments the structure in preventing contaminants from entering. The X and Y axis encoders are stainless steel material. The sensor circuit boards are conformal coated and spaced away from the housing. All associated electronics are housed in a 3.5 by 5.0 inch aluminum box that should be located in a protected area.

The trackball has a drain (tapped 1/8 inch pipe) to permit any liquid that may enter the ball cavity to be removed.

The trackball's computer interface format can be PS/2, serial (Microsoft or Logitech emulation), USB, or TTL compatible quadrature signals.
